RITE2STAGE, (formerly Camden Artists and New Playwrights) started as a writers workshop in February 1997 with the intention of encouraging new writers. It  was reformed as a co-operative in October 1997 with the addition of an actors group and got the new name, RITE2STAGE (© Jim Grover) , in October 2000. Actors' Workshops ran from February 1997 to April 2004. It staged over 30 new plays on the London fringe and also performed adaptations of the classics. There were 7 full-length plays, 2 musical adaptations, 19 'shorts' and 9 one act plays and open-air community event. Other plays have been devised by actors, co-scripted by the writers' group or written through a partnership between actors and playwrights. In addition to staged theatre performances they have produced numerous public and "invited audience" rehearsed reading events.
The purpose of RITE2STAGE was:
To encourage, develop and support playwrights in the writing of new plays.
To encourage, develop and support actors in our company.
To promote equal opportunities to all writers, actors and other theatre practitioners wishing to join.
To produce professional performances of selected plays and rehearsed readings of all other work submitted.
To give preferential auditions to our actors and the opportunity to participate in every production.
To encourage cross-training and in-job experience for new or aspiring actors, directors, writers and designers.
To produce performances of excellence to showcase the talents of our actors, playwrights and other practitioners.
To encourage new audiences to theatrical works, aiming to promote theatre and reflect the greater community.
